We’re excited about this new video about Creation Justice ministries with the American Baptist Churches, USA. Let’s think about how we can heed the call of Genesis 1 and 2 to become faithful stewards for ALL of creation!
Hello, we’ve been made aware of a new service for people seeking volunteers to help with household needs, like cleaning, lawn mowing, and more. If you find yourself in need of some volunteer work around the house, please check out: https://urcommunitycares.com/index.php/home/

Dear Hartford Association Churches,
We are delighted that the Commission on the Ministry of the American Baptist Churches of Connecticut has recommended that the congregation of the Enfield American Baptist Church call an Ordination Council of the Hartford Association for Rachael Lawrence. Rachael has fully met the requirements set forth by ABCCONN; therefore, the Enfield American Baptist Church is calling an Ordination Council for Monday, June 17, 2019 at 7 pm in their sanctuary at 129 Post Office Road, Enfield, CT.
I am excited that Rachael will have this opportunity to be examined by sisters and brothers of our American Baptist family. Rachael serves as Interim Pastor of the Enfield American Baptist Church. She is multi-vocational, as she is also the Assistant Director for the Center for Education Policy at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a classical singer/music educator. She holds a PhD in Education Policy and Leadership, a Master of Music in performance, and a Certificate in Theology and Ministry from Princeton Theological Seminary. I have served as Rachael’s mentor in her ordination process for over a year. She is a committed, compassionate person of faith in the God of Jesus Christ, deeply rooted in her faith and open to the new thing that God is always doing in the life of the world.
Enclosed you will find a copy of her ordination paper. Please take some time to read it before the council and bring it with you along with your questions and clarifying concerns for Rachael on June 17th. Feel free to make extra copies for members of your congregation.
I hope we have an excellent turnout for the council. If you have any questions, feel free to call me (860-668-1661) or email – www.secondbaptistsuffield.org.
Peace be with you,
The Reverend Thomas G. Carr
Hartford Association Moderator
Pastor, Second Baptist Church, Suffield
