Thank you for your past support!

Enfield American Baptist Church was a family-oriented, mission-minded Christian community that served Enfield, Connecticut and the surrounding area that has served the Enfield community for 55 years. We are affiliated with American Baptist Churches of CT and ABC-USA.

Our final independant worship service was held on Sunday morning at 10 a.m. on 29 December, 2019.

On January 5, 2020, we will worship with the congregation of Second Baptist Church in Suffield, CT at their 10 am service.

Our transitional pastor, the Rev. Dr. Rachael Lawrence,a bi-vocational pastor, is co-pastor of Second Baptist Church, Suffield, CT in January 2020. Our past worship services were supported with music provided by pianist Megan Gaskill, a Somers High School student, Mary Clark, a Smith College student, and the amazing Andrew King, who recently played at Carnegie Hall. Our congregation was ably supported by Carol Censki as secretary.

Your gifts are welcome in worship and in service to the world. Join us at Second Baptist Church in Suffield! 100 North Main Street, Suffield, CT.

  1. Hello,
I drive by every day and see a yoga class sign. Is it open to non members and if so what is the cost?
    Thank you and God bless.

    1. Hi Tracie, yes, the yoga class is open to everyone – in fact, the church is too! I think the yoga teacher charges $10 per class normally, but she sometimes runs specials. It’s worth dropping in!

    2. Hi. I take classes there some times. Teri is the yoga instructor and she charges $5 per class.
Bring your yoga mat and a water.
      It’s fun

    1. Hi Erin, Thank you for reaching out. I am not sure why I did not see this comment until now (February to June is a long time — my apologies). Yes, as an American Baptist Church, we practice believer’s baptism. I would be happy to meet with you if you are considering baptism, or another person of your family is of age that they are seeking baptism. Please feel free to call the church office and I’ll set up a time with you.

      -Pastor Rachael Lawrence

  2. To whomever it may concern,

My name is Phil Blonski, Community Engagement Senior Manager with United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut. I’m reaching out regarding our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program. VITA is a free, tax preparation program for working families.

In partnership with The Village for Children and Families, our United Way trains and IRS-certifies volunteers to work with residents on their taxes and get the refunds they have earned. When you have a few minutes, I’d like to discuss the program and see how we can get your congregation involved.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you.

    – Phil
